Module overview

This module aims to critically analyze and reflect upon biblical, historical, and systematic aspects of the «missio Dei» (mission of God). Students learn to situate themselves and their ministry within the dynamic mission of the Triune God—the origin and executor of mission. They will be empowered to develop a view of the Church from a theologically grounded, global, and intercultural perspective. This includes addressing questions of contextualization and interreligious dialogue.

  • Biblical Theology of Mission in the Old and New Testaments
  • the theological-systematic and practical aspects/models of the mission of God and the Church in history and the present

  • the trinitarian mission of God and the Church in their relationship to each other,
  • biblical, historical and contemporary models of intercultural theology.

  • To critically analyze and reflect on approaches to intercultural theologies,
  • To be responsible for the basic features of an independent biblical approach to intercultural theology,
  • to take the initiative for a contextualization process and dialogue with people of other cultures and religions, and to critically accompany this process.
